I returned to yoga in 2010 with intense neck and shoulder pain from repetitive movements involved with working at a desk in a dull corporate job. A friend recommended I go back to yoga and practice regularly as a preventative measure rather than trying emergency cures to fix the pain – I have never looked back!
After 6 weeks of practicing a regular physical and energising yoga class my entire body shape changed. My muscles and joints became stronger and toned increasing my stamina, posture, balance and my flexibility was much better. Breathing and cleansing exercises increased my lung capacity helping my ability to perform sports activates better and relaxing was easier. The neck and shoulder pain had gone and is now manageable and as for the dull desk job………well that is a distant memory!
My intention is to help people improve their health, life and well being through yoga. Working with people who want to maintain physical independence, or with active sports people who through over use of muscle groups have lost flexibility, helping them to reduce injuries. I also work on pre operative strengthening and post operative rehabilitation using yoga to help return back to a normal way of life quickly.
I practice and teach Hatha yoga with a holistic approach for overall well being, I am fascinated by the human body and our ability to live a healthy life by looking after our body and mind. I completed a 500 hour yoga teacher training course and 250 hour post graduate and yoga therapy course with the Devon School of yoga. I am a member of The British Wheel of Yoga. Based in Exeter, Devon I work with groups and one to one clients in Exeter and surrounding area and online.
With heart felt gratitude to Duncan Hulin and all the teachers of The Devon School of Yoga https://devonyoga.com/ for what has been a wonderful journey – Om Shanti
